Kia ora everyone! I believe in the strength of community to empower young people to thrive and grow up into incredible adults.
Having been raised in the small rural town of Motueka, volunteering in the community was very much a way of life in our family. I have been involved in sports, senior citizen, and youth social service having volunteered and worked in the non profit space for over twenty years. I also led the community group WAiF (West Auckland is Flooding) advocating to central and local government for the victims of the 2023 Auckland Anniversary Floods.
I’m a keen lover of cinema and run the film review site themoviearmy.com - my favourite films are Casablanca, It’s a Wonderful Life, and About Time. I also love a new Lego set, books of all kinds, and the world of politics. I live on the Pohutukawa Coast with my young family.
our in school intermediate work
Our three core goals in our primary and intermediate school work are Know, Grow, and Flourish. We want to know the children, whanau, and school community we are working in, so we can help them grow as individuals, in hopes that they will flourish in high school and beyond.
How do we achieve this practically? With our Five Key Priorities of Children's Work.
1. Meet Basic Needs
2. Group Work / Lunch Time Fun
3. Transitions (Inter-School and between intermediate and college)
4. Connecting
5. Mentoring (at school’s request with caregiver permission)
We do not provide Christian religious instruction in the schools we work in.
our in school college work
Our five outcomes of our in school college work are:

Supporting Students and Staff - Complementing and enhancing the role of teachers through extracurricular activities and holistic support.
Building Positive Relationships - Between students, students and staff and other significant adults like youth workers.
Cultivating School Spirit - Working alongside students, student council and staff in creating a safe and friendly environment where students enjoy their time at school and develop a sense of whanaungatanga (good citizenship).
Leadership Development - Encouraging and strengthening individual students in leadership roles.
Integrating Students with Suitable Out of School Activities - Safe opportunities for invitations to a full range of activities and significant relationships available in the community.
We do not provide Christian religious instruction in the schools we work in.
