Youth Worker and Team Leader
As Team Leader, I manage the youth workers and help connect them with needs within Pakuranga. I have been with the team since 2015. I have a degree in Early Childhood education. I am passionate about working with youth and helping others do the same. I work an average of 20 hours per week at Pakuranga as Team Leader and also focused on the Nikau House. I also work at Pakuranga as a relieving teacher.
Carmel grew up in the greater Howick area and graduated from Pakuranga College. She has her Youth Worker National Certificate, level 3. Carmel was instrumental to getting Pakuranga's team together and continues to set the bar for youth work in East Auckland.
I have been at Pakuranga since 2012. I love my job and being with teenagers. I am married to Rachel and the father to twin toddlers, Archer and Oscar and we are expecting a new baby in 2020. I spend a lot of time with youth in sports and develop relationships there which allow me to later mentor these same youth. I work an average of 10 hours per week as a youth worker focused on Kauri House.
Caleb is our longest standing youth worker at Pakuranga. He has a lot of wisdom to share. Caleb has his Youth Worker National Certificate, level 3.
I have been working at Pakuranga as a youth worker since 2016. When I'm not at school, I study Law at AUT. I really love my job as a youth worker and have recently started helping out in OLC as a teacher aide which I really enjoy too. My goal as a youth worker is to make sure all the students I work with know that they are cared for, valued and that their voice matters. I focus primarily on Totara House.
Alexa has completed her Youth Worker National Certificate, level 3.
I started on our team in 2019. I enjoy working with youth as every day is different and I like the relational aspects of youth work. I work an average of 10 hours per week as a youth worker and focus on Nikau House. I also enjoy playing music.

I love to mentor and help empower young people. I like to help young people to find their talents and gifts. I work an average of 10 hours per week as a youth worker. I focus on Pohutukawa House. When not working, I enjoy being outdoors or skating.
Jess has completed her Youth Worker National Certificate, level 3. She is currently doing an internship with Elim.
I was new to our team in 2019. I have worked in youth work before and am excited about this new role. I have a passion for supporting and encouraging young people through their difficult teenage years. I work an average of 10 hours per week as a youth worker and focus on Rimu House. My main interests outside of school are coffee, watersports, and seeing parts of our beautiful country.
Amelia has completed her Youth Worker National Certificate, level 3.
